Frequently Asked Questions

Cleaning windows is an important task for maintaining your home’s appearance and energy efficiency.  If you’re considering professional help, understanding the residential window cleaning cost can help you make an informed decision.

This guide will explore the average costs for window cleaning, factors influencing pricing, and why hiring professionals is a smart choice.

What Is the Average Residential Window Cleaning Cost?

The cost of hiring a professional for residential window cleaning typically ranges from $250 to $1,000 or more for a full house.  On average, homeowners spend about $550 - $650 on a complete cleaning, but the total amount varies depending on several factors, such as:

Size and Number of Windows

The most obvious factor affecting the cost of window cleaning is the number of windows that need to be cleaned.  Larger homes typically have more windows, which will take more time to clean and, therefore, increase the overall cost.

Additionally, if you have large, custom windows, the cleaning process may require more specialized tools or techniques, which can raise the cost.  Homes with multiple stories or uniquely shaped panes may also require additional safety equipment or ladders.

Number of Stories

The number of stories in your home can significantly affect the price.  Windows on upper floors are more difficult to reach and cleaning them can require extra equipment, such as ladders or scaffolding, and may take longer.

Type of Windows

Not all windows are created equal, and the type of windows you have impact the price.  Some types of windows, like double-hung windows or French panes, may require more time to clean due to their design.

Dirt and Stains

The condition of your windows is another important factor in determining cleaning costs.  If your windows haven’t been cleaned in a while and are covered in heavy dirt, dust, or hard water stains, this may also increase the price.  Hard water stains or mineral deposits, you may need to pay for specialized cleaning solutions or techniques to remove these stubborn marks.

We recommend having your windows cleaned at least twice a year, but it ultimately depends on your individual needs and preferences. Ideally, clean inside and outside in the Spring and at least the outside in the Fall and before Winter sets in.
